Mental Health America of the Lowcountry (MHALC) and its programs have operated continuously since 1976. MHALC provides structured programs led by credentialed staff centered on helping its clients achieve their behavioral health treatment goals in our highly supportive environment. We are a registered provider with the state of South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. We are also credentialed by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitative Facilities (CARF) demonstrating that international standards of quality, value and optimal client-centered outcomes have been met.
The mission of MHALC and the group counseling programs we offer is to promote wellness and support to those with mental illness through advocacy, education, research and clinical service. We are committed to promoting mental health, helping prevent mental disorders and offering our clients pathways to continuous improvement that will ultimately enhance their lives.
